Handred - Paraguaçu

For 2025 summer, the Rio de Janeiro-based brand Handred developed the Paraguaçu collection, inspired by the largest river of Bahia state. Norte was tasked to develop one of the prints, which was applied to various garment styles.

We invited Beatrice Arraes, an oil painting artist, to create the artwork. Her work captures natural and urban landscapes in compositions of shapes and colors that evoke memory and resilience against the passage of time. Alternating between sharp and blurred details, her scenes depict fauna, rain, public spaces like squares and graphic symbols of popular culture, found on her walks through the streets.

The Paraguaçu collection’s designs reflect rich memories: the Pedra da Baleia Lighthouse, an elder from the Irmandade da Boa Morte, and Saveiros (traditional boats) that carry goods along the river are all featured. The collection debuted at São Paulo Fashion Week N58 and is now available on Handred's e-commerce site and in physical stores.
